First “La Casa Sana” workshop on healthy materials at MATCOAM

On Thursday, May 22, the first workshop “La Casa Sana” was held at MATCOAM, a meeting designed to promote the use of healthy materials in construction, under our Friendly Materials® methodology. Organized especially for the members of the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM), the workshop offered a space to address the impact and importance of the materials we choose.
During the session, we presented in detail our Friendly Materials® methodology, going in depth on the effects of materials on human health and our evaluation criteria.
In addition, specialized technicians presented different solutions aligned with the criteria of this methodology, including:
- Sol-silicate paints, presented by José María Eizagaechevarría from KEIM Ecopaint Ibérica.
- Adhesive based on synthetic polymers, with M. Mar Penin of Mapei.
- Rockwool panels, explained by Víctor Bayo Muñoz from Rockwool Peninsular.
- Microcement-type coatings and decorative concretes, by Israel Medinilla Losada of Idealworks.
- Technological wood developed with recycled vegetable fibers from VISENDUM® European Technological Wood®, presented by Josep Carvajal.
- Clay coatings and paints from Ecoclay, presented by Blanca Sabater.
The workshop generated an enriching space for dialogue on how to choose materials consciously to create healthy environments.
We thank MATCOAM and its commitment to promote the use of healthy materials in construction, which is fundamental to improve the quality of the spaces we inhabit.
